Books, catalogues and bound printed matter need very little height but they do need a flat, rigid base. Put a stack of books in a box that is too tall and the contents slide around, so the corners arrive damaged. This square model of 250 x 250 x 100 mm holds that stack exactly in place. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for single wall folding boxes and we keep the matching cardboard boxes on the shelf for this job.

Choosing a 4 mm single wall here is deliberate. The C-flute is taller than the B-flute and springs back further, which counts on a large, low base. A surface like that wants to bow under weight, and the thicker flute is what absorbs it. For printed matter that matters more than outright stacking strength.

Does the base bow under a stack of books?

On a flat box the base is the point to watch. The 4 mm flute keeps the surface rigid, but spread the weight across the whole base rather than loading it onto one spot.

Which tape closes this box reliably?

For paper contents a standard 48 mm packaging tape is enough, run once along the seam and once over the edges. You will find the matching tape in the same order.

Can this box be reused for returns?

Often it can. As long as the flaps and the corners are undamaged, the box will take a second trip. A crushed corner, in practice, marks the end of its stacking strength and the box belongs in the waste paper stream.
