This box is made in 4 mm single wall board with a C-flute, a noticeably thicker quality than the usual 3 mm. The flute is coarser and springs back more, so the wall absorbs an impact better. With an internal size of 200 x 140 x 140 mm it is a compact model for contents that need sturdiness without moving up to double wall board. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for single wall folding cartons, and we stock folding boxes in both thicknesses.

The difference with 3 mm lies in the spring and in the puncture resistance. That pays off with items that have hard edges and with consignments handled several times along the way. Do allow for the fact that thicker board takes up a little more space: the internal size stays the same, but the external size grows by a few millimetres per side. Check in advance whether the format still fits your shipping crate or shelf.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between 3 mm and 4 mm single wall?

Both have one fluted layer between two flat liners. The 4 mm C-flute is coarser and taller, so it is springier and stiffer. The 3 mm B-flute is thinner and lighter and more than sufficient for light contents.

When should I move up to double wall?

As soon as the contents become heavy for the format, or the boxes are stacked high on a pallet. double wall shipping boxes have two fluted layers and therefore a considerably higher stacking strength.

Does this box fit the same pallet pattern as the 3 mm sizes?

The footprint is the same, but the external size is slightly larger because of the thicker wall. With a tight pallet pattern it is wise to measure that beforehand.
