Flat products belong in a flat box. 600 x 400 x 100 mm gives you a 600 by 400 mm base and only 100 mm of height, which is enough for panels, sheet material, printed matter, flat components, textiles in a single layer or display material without piling in padding. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for flat single wall boxes, and this is one of the sizes customers choose for the footprint alone among the folding boxes.

That footprint is exactly half the euro module. Four of these boxes sit snugly side by side on a 1200 by 800 mm pallet with no overhang and no lost surface. Wrapping becomes easier and corners survive, because nothing protrudes past the pallet edge. Taking several packs at a time brings the tiered price into play.

What to watch with flat boxes

The large base panel is the weak spot of every low model. Spread a dense load across the whole surface rather than resting it on one point. For genuinely heavy sheets, a double wall shipping box makes more sense, because it keeps that base panel rigid.

Why does this size fit a euro pallet so neatly?

600 by 400 mm is precisely a quarter of the 1200 by 800 mm pallet surface. Four boxes fill a layer completely, which is what makes the load stable.

Will the base sag under flat contents?

Not with light material. If you load something dense, add an extra sheet of board to the base or move up to a thicker quality.

How do I stop a flat box springing open?

Tape the seam over its full length and secure the short sides with an extra strip. The flaps on a low box carry more tension than those on a tall one.
