Where this size proves itself

Single wall board is one fluted layer between two flat liners. That build is more than enough for contents that carry themselves and do not press on a single point. Think of folded clothing and home textiles, cushions, plastic parts or a collection of small wrapped items. The base takes two stacks of folded goods side by side, and empty the box is so light that you can carry it around all day. If the contents are solid, sharp edged or genuinely heavy for this format, choose the 4 mm version or double wall shipping boxes.

Is 3 mm single wall strong enough for a box this size?

For contents that fill the volume without being heavy, 3 mm is well up to the job. For solid or sharp edged material we recommend the thicker 4 mm quality, which has more spring in the wall.

How do I stop the side walls from bulging?

Fill the box to just below the top edge and make sure the contents touch the walls. A single wall side leans on what is inside it, so take up any hollow space with void fill.

Which tape closes this box best?

A standard roll of 48 or 50 mm across the centre seam is enough over this length. You will find suitable grades in our tape range.
