Flat stock calls for a low tray. Put print work, film or a set of flat components in a tall box and you have to reach deep inside while the contents slide in every direction. At 500 x 300 x 150 mm the stack stays low and easy to survey. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for single wall board boxes, and this flat model from our cardboard boxes range is used above all as a warehouse box.
The board is single wall 3 mm with a B-flute, the lighter of our two single wall qualities. On a low box that is also the right one, because the wall has hardly any height to bridge and the contents lie flat on the base. A pack of 20 boxes therefore has a low tare weight. If the contents get heavy or you stack high, double wall shipping boxes offer more strength.
Print work and documents: A4 and A3 lie flat without folding over at the edges.
Flat components: sheets, strips, gaskets, labels and films.
Working stock at the machine: a low tray the operator can pick from easily.

Yes, as long as the flaps are closed. A closed box carries through its corners while an open one does not. Keep to three or four layers and put the heaviest box at the bottom.
Spread the load across the whole area and lift the box with both hands under the base. A concentrated load in the middle is what makes a flat box sag first.
Stick the label on the long side wall rather than on the lid. It stays readable when the boxes are stacked in racking and only the front is visible.
