Single wall box 500 x 250 x 250 mm - narrow storage bin in 3 mm board

Half a metre long and 250 mm square: that profile fits a great many shelves, with two or three boxes side by side in each bay. It makes 500 x 250 x 250 mm more of a storage bin than a parcel box. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for single wall cartons, and this size goes mainly to companies that have built their stockroom around one fixed format from our folding boxes range.

The quality is single wall 3 mm with a B-flute. In racking the boxes support one another and the contents are not under transport stress, which makes this the economical choice. A pack holds 25 boxes, slightly more than the usual 20, and that works out neatly when each shelf bay has a fixed requirement. If you need more load bearing capacity for heavy parts, double wall shipping boxes are the better option.

Use in the warehouse

Fixed stock bin: one item per box with the location label on the end panel.
Long items: profiles, hoses, strips and cable bundles up to 48 cm.
Pick orders: the box goes from the rack to the packing bench and straight on as the shipping carton.

Which side should face the aisle in racking?

The 250 by 250 mm end panel. You then read the label head on and can pull the box towards you without disturbing its neighbours.

Why are there 25 boxes in a pack instead of 20?

This size is produced in units of 25. For a storage application that is usually convenient, because one pack then fills a complete shelf or a whole run of locations in one go.

Does the long side stay taut when the box is full?

With evenly distributed contents it does. With heavy or sharp contents, stand a strip of board against the long wall so the pressure spreads over a larger area.
