A good 51 litres in one box. That is the format you use to clear a bulk order in a single pass, or to pack a full branch replenishment as one unit. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for single wall shipping boxes, and in our cardboard boxes range this size always prompts the same question: is single wall still enough here?
The answer depends on weight, not on volume. Fill 430 x 400 x 300 mm with light goods such as textiles, film or plastics and the 3 mm single wall board is a sensible, economical choice. Fill the same volume with dense goods and the bottom carries too much per square centimetre. In that case double wall shipping boxes are the right step up, not least because stacking pressure on the bottom layer builds quickly.
Bulk shipments: large quantities of the same light article.
Several items per consignment: three layers with a separator sheet between them.
Storage and moving: a roomy box that two hands can still lift.

Not for light, bulky loads. A well filled box keeps its own walls under tension. With dense, heavy contents a double wall grade is the better choice.
Twelve packs of 25 boxes each. Allow for the height of that pallet when it arrives, because this format builds up fast. Ordering by the pallet also brings the price per box down.
Only to a limited extent. Put no more than two filled layers on top of each other and keep the corners aligned. For anything taller, a double wall construction gives a firmer base.
