Why a single wall is enough here

Choosing 3 mm is a deliberate decision at this size. Heavier board would raise the shipping weight and the price per box without giving you anything in return, because the contents do not load the walls. Only once the volume is filled with dense, heavy cargo does the balance shift towards double wall board. Matching cushioning sits in our protective and filling materials.

How much load will this box take?

At this volume it is the lifting rather than the wall that sets the limit. With a single wall of 3 mm, stick to a load one person lifts comfortably and fill the box right up, because a half-full box collapses under stacking pressure.

When should I move up to a heavier quality?

As soon as you fill this volume with dense cargo or stack the boxes several layers high on a pallet. Double wall board then delivers noticeably more stacking strength.

Are the measurements internal or external?

They are internal measurements. The external size is roughly 3 mm greater per side because of the wall thickness, which matters if the box has to fit exactly into a crate or a racking bay.
