On a footprint of 400 x 300 mm this is the tallest version in the range: 400 x 300 x 300 mm gives you thirty-six litres of space. Where the shallower heights are meant for one or two layers, this size is for consignments that mainly need room and weigh little. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for single wall boxes, and this height sits at the top of our range of cardboard boxes.
The quality is 3 mm B-flute, which is a deliberate choice at this volume. With thirty-six litres, the weight of the box itself counts towards your rate band, and thin board keeps that share small. For heavy contents at this height, double wall shipping boxes are the better fit, because they hold a fully loaded box of this format in shape.
Bulky lightweight goods: cushions, duvets, textiles and foam.
Moving and archiving: plenty of room while staying liftable with two hands.
Loose fill: enough height to bed a product in on all sides.

Only in height, 300 instead of 250 mm, which is about six litres more room. The quality, the footprint and the pallet pattern are identical, so you can combine both heights without changing anything in your warehouse.
In practice the weight you can lift limits the load sooner than the board does. With 3 mm single wall, plan for light to medium-weight goods and fill any voids so that nothing shifts in transit.
You can, by cutting the side walls all the way round and folding the flaps inwards. The box does lose stiffness that way, so for regular use a size with the right height is the sensible option.
