Volume and weight are two different things. A box measuring 400 x 300 x 250 mm holds around thirty litres, and if those contents are light there is nothing to gain by wrapping thick board around them. That is why this height is made in 3 mm B-flute. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for corrugated shipping boxes, and this is the size customers reach for when their goods are bulky but light. You will find it among our cardboard boxes.
B-flute has one fine fluting layer of 3 mm. That keeps the box itself light, which counts directly towards your shipping rate at thirty litres of volume. If the load is heavier, or the boxes have to go high on a pallet, choose 4 mm or double wall shipping boxes in the same size.
Textiles and bedding: plenty of volume, hardly any weight.
Plastic items: trays, bottles, toys and empty packaging.
Insulation and loose fill: light material that mainly needs space.

Not for light contents. What matters is filling the box properly, so the goods inside do not let the walls bulge. For heavier loads at this height we recommend 4 mm single wall or double wall board.
Yes. The 400 x 300 mm footprint comes in several heights, from shallow to taller than 250 mm. That lets you keep one fixed pallet build and change only the height.
Set the boxes in a closed pattern so they support one another, and wrap the layer with stretch film. A sheet between two layers spreads the load more evenly across the footprint.
