This is one of those sizes you reach for automatically on the packing line: long enough for a pair of shoes or a stack of books, narrow enough to stay in the cheaper parcel band with almost every carrier. The internal size is 400 x 200 x 150 mm. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for shipping boxes in single wall board, and we see this format turn up in nearly every e-commerce warehouse.

The board is 3 mm single wall in B-flute. For most webshop consignments that is exactly the right choice: strong enough for a sorting centre, without the extra volume of double wall board. If you consistently send heavier contents, double wall shipping boxes are the safer option. Quantity pricing applies, so the price per box drops as you order more.

How does this box differ from the 400 x 200 x 100 mm model?

The height is 150 instead of 100 mm and the board is 3 instead of 4 mm. So this model holds more, while the other one is stiffer under hard contents.

Can I use this box for returns?

Yes, and that is one reason webshops choose this format. Ask the customer to open the box with a knife along the top seam, so the flaps stay intact and the box can make a second trip.

How much room should I allow for filling material?

Allow 20 to 30 mm all round for fragile contents. With books or textiles you can use less, as long as the contents sit tight against the walls and cannot shift.
