How often can a customer reuse a box like this?

In practice once or twice. The weak point is not the panel but the flap crease. As soon as that tears, the lid no longer closes tightly. A crushed corner costs part of the load capacity as well.

Should I include tape for the return journey?

That is a sensible move. A single 50 mm strip of tape is plenty, but the recipient rarely has any to hand. Many senders enclose a pre-cut strip or a returns label.

How long does a sealed pack keep in storage?

Indefinitely, as long as the storage is dry. Corrugated board takes up moisture and then loses stiffness, so do not lay the bundles straight onto a concrete floor.
