With a tall box the attention shifts from load capacity to shape. A single wall of 3 mm keeps a well-filled box of this format perfectly square, while a half-filled one buckles. Fill right up to the flaps, if need be with paper or an air cushion from our protective and filling materials, so the lid is supported by the contents. If you stand a whole layer upright, add a sheet of board between the tiers so the weight spreads evenly across the walls. You can mix heights from this range in one order.

How heavily may I fill this box?

At this format it is the wall rather than the base that decides. For light to medium-weight goods, 3 mm is more than adequate. As the weight rises, choose the 4 mm version or double wall shipping boxes.

Is the box stable when it is only half full?

Less so than a full one. Always top up the upper layer, otherwise the lid can sag inwards under pressure from above.

What does a tall box mean for my shipping costs?

Many carriers calculate on volumetric weight, so a tall box that travels half empty costs you money. If the contents also fit a shallower size, that size is almost always cheaper to send.
