Does the white stay clean after a run through a sorting centre?

In most cases it does, though you should expect the occasional scuff. If the box has to reach the customer spotless, send the white box inside a plain brown outer carton.

Which tape shows up least on white board?

Clear or white tape. Brown parcel tape draws a dark line across the box and takes away the effect of the white finish.

Why is the inside of a white box left natural?

The board is white-lined on one side only. That keeps the box affordable, and the inside of a shipping box is rarely visible because cushioning or an insert sits on top of it.
