Square box 200 x 200 x 100 mm - half height on a square base

A 200 by 200 mm square with a height of 100 mm: in 200 x 200 x 100 mm the height is exactly half the width. It sounds like a detail, but it makes packing predictable, because round or square contents cannot tip over and you need no filler to close off an empty corner. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for cardboard boxes, and this flat square is one of the sizes customers keep on the packing bench all year.

How 3 mm B-flute behaves

On a square of this size the 3 mm B-flute is enough, as long as you spread the contents evenly over the base. The format is also easy on the pallet, because a square base butts up tightly and no space is lost between the columns. Truly flat items for a letterbox are better off in postal boxes.

Frequently asked questions

Does this footprint divide neatly over a euro pallet?

Yes. A 200 x 200 mm square divides the common pallet size without leftover space, so you can keep one fixed build. The columns then end up at the same height across the whole surface.

Will this size go through a letterbox?

No. At 100 mm high the box is well over letterbox height. For flat items a lower model is the better choice, even though it shares the same base area.

Can I put anything on top of these boxes?

A few layers are no problem as long as you stack over the corners, because that is where corrugated board carries its load. Never rest a closed box loosely on a half filled one.
