A square base with a limited height packs differently from an ordinary rectangular box. Contents that lie flat or in a single layer stay exactly where you put them. The size 160 x 160 x 90 mm is the textbook example of that. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for single wall folding boxes, and in our folding boxes category we deliberately keep square dimensions in stock as well, which are not always standard elsewhere.

In 3 mm single wall board this is a light box with a small, rigid base. The bottom therefore does not sag, even when the contents are spread across the entire surface. The square format also stacks tightly, with no lost space between the columns on a pallet.

Frequently asked questions

Why would I choose a square box?

Because square or round contents then cannot tip over. You need less void fill and the shipment looks tidier on arrival than a half-filled rectangle. A square box can also be set up in either direction at the bench, which saves time while filling and closing.

Does the bottom stay flat when the box is full?

At 160 x 160 mm the base is small enough to stay rigid in single wall board. Do place heavier contents spread out, though, rather than on one point in the middle.

How do I pad flat contents in this format?

A thin layer below and above is usually enough to keep anything from knocking against the flaps. Suitable paper and air cushioning is listed under protective and filling materials.
