Cardboard box 150 x 110 x 110 mm - near-cubic size for jars and bottles

A box that is equal on two sides and only slightly longer than it is wide packs more calmly than an elongated model. The contents sit in the middle with the same amount of room all around for a layer of void fill. With an internal size of 150 x 110 x 110 mm this is a format for jars, bottles, tins, small devices and rolled-up articles. The board is 3 mm single wall in B-flute, meaning one fluted layer between two flat liners. That is just enough for contents that are not heavy but still need to arrive protected, and it keeps the weight of the packaging itself down. You notice that in the rate your carrier charges.

Frequently asked questions

How much void fill do I need at this size?

Count on a layer of roughly 10 to 15 mm around the contents. In a box of these dimensions that comes down to a handful of paper fill or a couple of air cushions.

Can I ship a glass jar in a single wall box?

You can, as long as the glass touches no wall anywhere and cannot slide about. Wrap the jar and build up the corners. For heavier glassware, or several jars per box, double wall shipping boxes are the safer route.

Which tape closes this box best?

A standard roll of 48 or 50 mm width is plenty. One strip across the top seam holds reliably at this format, and for heavier contents you add a second strip crosswise over it.
