With 160 litres of capacity, this format consolidates those shipments into a single parcel. What stands out about this size is how light the box itself is: a pack of ten weighs 11.76 kg, so less than 1.2 kg per box. That saves on shipping weight and means one person can move the flat-packed bundle – a filled box is a different story.

Girth and volumetric weight

For large parcels, carriers look at the length plus girth: length plus twice the width plus twice the height. Here that comes to 2600 mm, comfortably within the usual limit of 3000 mm. The volumetric weight is around 32 kg, so compare that with the actual weight of your shipment before making this your standard format.

Handling and stacking

✔ Two people for a full box – you cannot hold 800 mm of length close to your body.
✔ Tape the bottom in an H pattern – a single strip is not enough for a base this size.
✔ Stack squarely – the corners carry the load, the panels do not.
✔ Use a pallet box for heavy contents – the load then rests on the pallet instead of on the box below.

How many smaller boxes does this format replace?

Roughly three boxes of thirty by forty centimetres, depending on how efficiently you pack. The real gain lies in handling and the number of labels.

Is a light box also a strong box?

With corrugated board, strength comes from the construction, not the weight. The 7 mm double wall BC flute gets its rigidity from the two fluted layers, not from thick, heavy material.

Does this box fit on a Euro pallet?

Yes, two per layer with the long side across the width of the pallet. There is some space left over, which you can use for narrower parcels or void fill.
