Sometimes the dimensions are the whole argument. With a base of 800 x 400 mm, three boxes fit in one layer on a Euro pallet: three times 400 mm matches the 1200 mm length, while the 800 mm of the box matches the width of the pallet. As these are internal dimensions, the wall thickness brings the layer to roughly 1242 x 814 mm externally, so allow for a little overhang. The box itself is elongated: 800 mm long with a cross-section of 400 x 350 mm. That makes it a good fit for anything with length but little bulk – mouldings, tubes, long components, rolls of material or a dismantled appliance.

Lifting and shipping

At 800 mm long, you carry this box out in front of you, which makes the load feel considerably heavier; for contents above 15 kg we recommend a two-person lift. The volumetric weight is around 22 kg, so with light contents you are effectively paying to ship air.

Why double wall rather than single wall

At 800 mm long, the side wall becomes the load-bearing surface. A single wall shipping box of this size buckles in the middle as soon as you lift it; the 7 mm BC flute keeps the box straight. That is also why this format stacks well: the corners carry the load and the walls stay taut.

Do three really fit on one pallet layer?

Yes – with the long side along the 800 mm width of the Euro pallet and three boxes in a row across the 1200 mm length. Bear in mind that the stated sizes are internal dimensions: because of the wall thickness, the layer overhangs the pallet edge by about 2 cm lengthways and about 7 mm per side widthways.

What is the difference from the 400 mm high version?

Only the height. This model is 50 mm lower and therefore 16 litres smaller, while the base and the pallet pattern stay exactly the same.

How do I pack a long box properly?

Keep the centre of gravity in the middle and fill both ends. Then tape the long seam along its full length; a short strip in the middle will not keep a box like this closed.
