Flat, wide products are harder to pack than heavy ones. A panel, a table top, a set of kitchen doors or a display bends as soon as the packaging gives. With a base of 790 x 490 mm and a height of just 180 mm, this box keeps such contents flat. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for double wall shipping boxes, including the low-profile versions these kinds of products need.

The 7 mm double BC flute does the real work here. In a flat box, the base is the weak point: the larger the panel, the faster it sags. Two fluted layers between three flat liners turn that base into a board that holds its shape, even when you pick the box up by a short side; single wall shipping boxes bend sooner.

Carrying with two people

Almost eighty centimetres of length means one person cannot keep the box balanced. The load sits far from the body and a flat box tends to twist around its long axis when lifted. So plan on two people, one at each short side, even with a modest weight.

Low boxes stack easily, provided you place them directly on top of each other. Two fit per layer on a Euro pallet. At almost 70 litres, the volumetric weight stays at around 14 kg, which keeps this size relatively economical with carriers – a welcome exception among the large sizes.

Frequently asked questions

Can I ship several panels in one box?

Yes – place a sheet of cardboard or foam between the panels so they do not rub against each other. Fill the remaining height, otherwise the panels can rattle in transit.

Will the base sag under heavy contents?

The double wall absorbs a lot, but do spread the weight over the whole surface. A heavy, concentrated load on a small area will eventually push through any board.

Why are there twenty boxes in a pack?

Because a flat model takes up little height when flat-packed, a larger number fits in the same bundle. A pack of twenty weighs just over 22 kg, so it stays manageable.
