Where the 400 and 500 mm versions stay within a manageable stacking height, this is the size for anyone who wants to fit as much as possible into one parcel. 271 litres of capacity on a footprint that fits two per layer on a Euro pallet: a box that replaces three or four separate parcels. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for shipping boxes in sizes like this.

That gain has a downside. A 600 mm tall box has a high centre of gravity once it is filled, which makes it prone to tipping when moved. Never lift it alone, and ideally stand it directly on the pallet or on a dolly while filling it.

Large box or a pallet box after all

The trade-off is easy to make. Will the contents stay below about 30 kg and do you want a separate, sealable shipping unit? Then this box is the right choice. If the contents go above that, or the packaging has to travel back and forth several times, a pallet box is better: it sits on a pallet, is made of heavier board and is never lifted by hand. We supply both, so we can compare the two options for your situation.

Does such a tall box stay stable?

When full, yes, as long as the heavy contents are at the bottom. A half-filled 600 mm tall box tips over easily; in that case, fill the space above with light void fill.

What is the maximum stacking height on a pallet?

Two layers already come to 1200 mm of cartons. In practice, customers therefore usually stack this size in a single layer and stretch wrap it securely.

Why choose this over several smaller boxes?

One parcel saves handling, labels and the risk of part of the shipment going missing. If the contents weigh so much that lifting becomes a problem, splitting or a pallet solution still wins.
