There is a clear limit to what one member of staff can lift from the racking to the packing line alone, and this size sits just below it. At 700 x 350 x 300 mm with 73 litres of capacity, you can still grip the box by its sides with both hands and see over it to your feet. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for double wall shipping boxes, and we see this as one of the more practical large sizes.

The proportions are deliberately elongated: the 700 mm length takes a dismantled component, while the 350 mm width keeps the box manageable.

The volumetric weight is around 15 kg. If your contents weigh less, you are effectively paying to ship air – so fill the box well or choose a size down. Three of these boxes fit per layer on a Euro pallet, with the 7 mm board absorbing the pressure of the layers above. If you regularly stack higher than four layers, a pallet box is often a more stable solution than individual boxes.

Can one person still lift this size?

Yes, with contents up to about 20 kg, provided you hold the box close to your body. Above that, we recommend two people or a sack truck – not because of the board, but for the sake of your employee's back.

What is more practical: this size or two smaller boxes?

One parcel means one label, one round of handling and one shipping charge. Splitting only makes sense if the contents would take the weight well above your lifting limit.

Does the long side wall stay straight in a full box?

Yes, that is exactly what the double wall is for. Do make sure the contents reach into the corners, as a half-filled long box buckles sooner than a full one.
