Cardboard boxes 700 x 250 x 250 mm – long and narrow, in double wall

Seventy centimetres long with a 250 x 250 mm cross-section: this is the size for anything that cannot be folded or dismantled. Think of profiles, tubes, curtain rails, stands, long lamps or a set of clamps. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for shipping boxes in sizes you will not find as standard, and this elongated model is one of them.

With a long box, the board behaves differently from a block-shaped one: the long panel tends to sag as soon as you pick the box up in the middle. The 7 mm double wall BC flute gives that side wall the rigidity that a single wall shipping box lacks.

Practical in transit

At 43.75 litres, the volumetric weight stays at around 9 kg, so with most carriers this size falls into an economical band. Length surcharges usually only start above 100 cm. One person can carry a filled box easily: you tuck it under your arm rather than holding it out in front of you.

Points to watch when packing

Fill the ends: in a long box especially, the contents slide towards the end panels and knock against them.
Tape the long seam completely: the flaps are narrow, so a short strip is not enough.
Put heavy items in the middle: that stops the box seesawing when you pick it up.

Frequently asked questions

Will this length attract a carrier surcharge?

At 700 mm, usually not. With most parcel services, surcharges only start at around one metre in length. Do check your own carrier's terms, though, as they vary by contract.

Can I tape two of these boxes together for extra length?

We advise against it. The joint becomes the weak point and most carriers will not accept a composite package. Choose a longer model or a postal tube instead.

How do I stack narrow, long boxes without them toppling?

Lay them flat in a cross-stacked pattern rather than standing them upright. Upright, the 250 x 250 mm footprint is too small for a stable stack.
