This is the taller version of the square 600 x 600 mm model: the same footprint, but with a height of 400 mm and therefore 144 litres of capacity. It is the size that takes a complete appliance with accessories, or a batch of bulky parts in a single shipment. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for double wall shipping boxes, and these sizes are mainly ordered by businesses that ship machinery, equipment or installation materials.

Practical applications

Equipment with accessories: a unit, cables, fixings and documentation packed together.
Installation materials: pipe sections, pumps, ventilation components and their brackets.
Bulky returns: a box sturdy enough for the outward and return journey; if even more volume needs to go in one go, pallet boxes are the logical next step.

Packing without movement

With a box of this size, the void fill determines the result. Place the contents centrally on the base, keep an even layer of protective material all round and fill the space above the contents up to the flaps. That way the stacking load from above presses on the contents plus the fill rather than on the lid alone. Meanwhile, the 7 mm double wall BC flute provides the puncture resistance you need for hard components.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference from the 300 mm high version?

The capacity: 144 versus 108 litres. Footprint, board and pack size are the same, so both sizes can be stacked in the same column.

Can one person handle this box?

Empty, certainly; full, it depends on the contents. At 600 mm wide you cannot reach around the box with both hands, so with a full box it is easier to lift it with two people or use a sack truck.

How do I stop the top flaps from bulging?

Fill the box to just below the top edge and seal the centre seam with a continuous strip of tape. If a lot of air remains, top up with lightweight material; that stops the flaps from caving in when boxes are stacked.
