Double wall cardboard boxes - 586 x 386 x 485mm

Cardboard boxes 586 x 386 x 485 mm – volume without the weight

This size is all about capacity. At 586 x 386 x 485 mm you get over one hundred litres, while the box itself stays light. That is exactly what you need for loads that take up a lot of space but weigh little: duvets and pillows, insulation material, foam parts, lampshades, toys or folded textiles. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for cardboard boxes, supplying these larger sizes from stock as well.

With a box almost half a metre tall, the wall matters more than with a low model. A tall wall bulges as soon as you fill generously, and bulging walls cost stacking strength. The 7 mm double wall BC flute keeps the sides straight.

Typical applications

Moving and storage: bedding, pillows, coats and household goods in one go.
Light bulk products: packaging foam, film, polystyrene parts and moulded plastic parts.
E-commerce with volume: items that carriers charge by volumetric weight and that still need to go in one shipment.

Specifications

Practical in use

The boxes arrive flat-packed, so you only erect them when you need them. With this size, that saves a considerable amount of warehouse space. Close the bottom with a continuous strip of packing tape over the centre seam and put the heaviest items at the bottom. That keeps the centre of gravity low, so the box won't tip over when it is dragged.

Frequently asked questions

How many litres does this box hold?

Almost 110 litres at the stated internal dimensions. With soft fillings, allow for slightly less, as you will still want to fold the flaps shut flat.

Can this box take a heavy load or not?

Technically, double wall can handle a lot, but at this volume dense products quickly reach a weight that can no longer be lifted with two hands. For manual handling, keep to around 20 kg and use the volume for light loads.

Why is the height 485 mm and not a round number?

The 485 mm is the internal dimension. Add the wall thickness of the double wall board and the external dimensions come to around 600 x 400 x 500 mm. That 600 x 400 mm base is a Euro pallet modular size.
