Double wall cardboard boxes - 586 x 386 x 200mm

Cardboard boxes 586 x 386 x 200 mm – wide base, low build

If you ship large but not particularly heavy items, sooner or later you will arrive at this type of format: internal dimensions of 586 mm long by 386 mm wide and just 200 mm high. Everything lies side by side in a single layer, and the box stays low enough to handle comfortably. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for double wall shipping boxes in virtually every size.

What goes in this format

Textiles and clothing: folded garments, curtain fabric or linen that you don't want to crush.
Display and promotional material: banners, cardboard stands and poster rolls lie flat.
Parts in a single layer: profiles, fittings or plastic parts side by side, without sliding over one another.

Why double wall for this base

A box longer than half a metre has a large base. In single wall board, such a surface will sag as soon as you lift the box. The 7 mm double wall keeps the surface rigid, even halfway along its length. Compared with a single wall shipping box, that is the difference between holding its shape and bulging.

Specifications

✔ Low loading height – pack without reaching deep into the box.
✔ Supplied flat – the boxes only take up space once you erect them.
✔ Unprinted brown board – your own label or stamp stands out clearly.

Frequently asked questions

The specification says CB flute. Is that different from BC?

It is the same double wall construction of a coarse and a fine fluted layer, together around 7 mm. The letters only indicate the order of the layers; you won't notice any difference in strength or thickness.

Will the base stay flat if I fill the box completely?

Spread the weight over the whole surface rather than at one point, and tape the bottom in an H pattern, including the two cross seams. Then the board shares the load instead of just the tape.

Can I stack two of these boxes on top of each other?

Yes, provided you place them squarely on top of each other so the corners line up – that is where the strength of corrugated board lies. With this base, staggered stacking can quickly cost half the stacking strength.
