Cardboard boxes 585 x 385 x 285 mm – for when you need just a little more height

Fifteen millimetres may not sound like much, but it is often exactly the difference between a lid that closes flat and one that bulges. If your contents, including a layer of protection, come to 27.5 cm, the 270 mm version falls short and this 285 mm tall box gives you the room you need. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for cardboard boxes, which is why we deliberately keep these in-between sizes in stock as well.

A bulging lid is more than a cosmetic flaw: as soon as the flaps are under tension, the stacking load no longer goes down through the corners.

When to choose this height

Contents between 26 and 28 cm: appliances, jars and packed sets that are just too tall.
Extra protective layer: room for a sheet of foam or air cushions on top of the contents.
Two layers plus a layer pad: the extra centimetres absorb the thickness of the divider.

Frequently asked questions

Is the difference from the 270 mm version worth it?

Only if your contents genuinely fall between the two sizes. If everything fits comfortably in 270 mm, this box means shipping unnecessary air. If it just doesn't fit, this size saves you stepping up to a much taller model.

Can I make the box lower if I need less height?

Yes: cut the corners of the side walls down to the required height and fold the flaps inwards. You will lose some stacking strength, though, so only do this with light contents.

Why does this box weigh more than the 585 x 385 x 270 mm?

Besides the extra height, this version uses more board per box, which shows in both the weight per pack and the strength. As a result, 9 packs fit on a pallet instead of 14.
