When you ship equipment, you rarely pack just the product. There are foam corners, a manual, a power cable and sometimes a second inner box as well. This size is roomy enough to take all of that: 425 mm long, 325 mm wide and 300 mm high. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for double wall shipping boxes, and we see this size mainly with technical wholesalers and manufacturers of small machines.

The board is double wall, 7 mm, in BC flute. For equipment that is no overkill: the weight is often concentrated in a motor block or transformer, and in a drop that mass wants to go through the wall. Two fluted layers plus a foam corner on each edge stop it.

Equipment and tools: drills, pumps, drives and control cabinets.
Box-in-box packaging: a retail pack protected inside a plain transport box.
Stacking on pallets: eighteen packs per pallet, in a fixed column pattern.

Do standard foam corners fit in this box?

In most cases, yes. Work back from the internal dimensions: a five-centimetre corner piece on each side leaves room for a product of about 325 x 225 x 200 mm.

Does box-in-box packing make sense here?

For equipment with its own retail packaging, it is the safest route. The inner box stays undamaged and presentable, while this shipping box absorbs the knocks.

How do I seal a box with heavy contents properly?

Tape the bottom seam and both cross seams so the flaps cannot spring open under the weight. A wide roll of packing tape is quicker and more reliable than loose strips.
