A 400 by 300 mm footprint is a familiar size in any warehouse: it is a modular dimension of the Euro pallet (1200 x 800 mm). With a height of 180 mm, this box lets you place several items side by side and on top of each other without the shipment becoming unwieldy. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for double wall shipping boxes, and this size is one of our year-round best sellers.

The wall consists of two fluted layers between three flat liners, 7 mm thick in total. You notice the difference from a single wall shipping box as soon as the box holds more than a few kilos: the side walls stay straight and the base does not sag when you lift it.

How many items will fit in this box?

That depends on your products, but the 180 mm height is enough for two or three layers of average webshop items. Fill the remaining space with void fill so nothing can shift in transit.

Are these internal or external dimensions?

400 x 300 x 180 mm are the internal dimensions. Because of the wall thickness, the external dimensions are slightly larger on every side; bear this in mind if the box has to fit into a crate or shelf compartment.

Why does this size fit a pallet so well?

Because 400 x 300 mm is a modular dimension of the Euro pallet: in theory, the footprint fits eight times on 1200 x 800 mm. The wall thickness makes the external dimensions slightly larger, so base your pallet pattern on the external dimensions.
