One metre long, seventy centimetres wide and half a metre high: this box is first and foremost a large, load-bearing base. That makes it suitable for contents that need to travel flat or lying down, where height matters less. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for cardboard boxes, including the sizes that fall outside the standard parcel range.

With a 1000 x 700 mm base, sagging is the main concern. Two fluted layers between three flat liners give the board a thickness of 7 mm and with it the bending stiffness that a single wall box lacks over this surface area.

At these dimensions, the box falls outside the regular parcel network of virtually every carrier; in practice, these shipments go out on a pallet. With external dimensions of approx. 1014 x 714 mm, the box fits comfortably on a Euro pallet; do stretch wrap it firmly so it cannot shift.

Frequently asked questions

How do I lift a filled box of this size?

Always with two people and from underneath, not by the top edge. With a wide base, the weight pulls on the flaps differently, and they are not designed for that.

Can I add a divider?

Yes – with this format it is actually recommended. A flat sheet of corrugated board between two layers spreads the weight and stops the top layer pressing on the one below.

Is this the same as a pallet box?

No. A pallet box is matched to the footprint of a pallet and is usually built up in parts. This is a one-piece regular slotted container (RSC, FEFCO 0201) that you erect and tape shut yourself.
