Exactly one metre long and 500 by 500 mm at each end: this format sits on the boundary between a parcel and a pallet shipment. The square cross-section makes the box equally stiff in every direction. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for double wall shipping boxes, and we see this model mainly with businesses that need to fit long goods and volume into one pack.

The board is 7 mm double wall BC. At a length of one metre, that is the minimum you want: single wall visibly bends over this span as soon as the box is lifted at one end.

Shipping on the one-metre limit

Many parcel carriers draw the line for their standard rate at one metre; beyond that, a length surcharge applies. This box sits right on that limit, so for larger volumes check which terms apply to your account.

Frequently asked questions

Does a long box need extra taping?

Yes. Tape both the bottom and top seams along their full length and secure the ends with an extra strip. At a metre long, that is where most of the stress builds up.

Can the box be stacked upright?

Standing upright, it is stable on its 500 x 500 mm footprint, but check that the contents can cope with that. If they are loose in the box, they will slide to one end when it is tipped.

How does this model differ from a slim tube box?

A tube box is just as long but much narrower. This model offers space around the contents and suits long items that also have volume, such as a frame with protruding parts.
