1. Garbage bags
Versatile, affordable and naturally waterproof and dirt-resistant: it is best to have sufficient stock in the kitchen cupboard or warehouse. Unnoticed, a large amount of (residual) waste passes through the office on a daily basis, and for a clean working environment it is advisable to place sufficient waste bins with garbage bags.
Garbage bags can sometimes come in handy for less common purposes, too. You can also use them, for example, as a waterproof cover to protect products in storage, to keep out unwanted sunlight (as a temporary solution) or as a replacement for a sturdy carrying bag if there is no such thing.
2. Toilet paper
At least as essential is the toilet paper. Being out of stock prematurely – you'd rather not experience that! Make sure all toilets are stocked with enough toilet paper at all times to avoid uncomfortable situations in the workplace. In addition, toilet paper is also a real jack-of-all-trades in 'side tasks'. To replace tissues with a cold, as a temporary bandage in the event of an accident or as a volatile solution when there is a spill; toilet paper is available.
3. Personal hygiene products
A safe and hygienic work environment starts with good personal hygiene, as the COVID19 pandemic proved once again. The employer and workplace also contribute to this personal hygiene. Hand soap in all toilets and in the kitchen is the absolute basis of every workplace. Nowadays, disinfectant alcohol is also a welcome guest in many office spaces. If you want to provide the employees with all the personal comforts, you can also choose to offer additional care items, such as a common deodorant and menstrual products.
4. Cleaning products
In the context of hygiene, cleaning products are also an indispensable addition to the office. In the collection of cleaning products we recommend a minimum of cleaning cloths, washing up liquid and sanitary cleaner, but damp cloths and/or all-purpose cleaner are also handy all-rounders with many applications. In addition, cleaning agents with a more specific application – such as surface cleaners, glass cleaners or dishwasher tablets – can also make work a lot more pleasant and efficient.
5. General office supplies
In an open plan office, the average office item – such as a paper shredder or hole puncher – will usually show up better than in more physical branches, but there are a number of office supplies that are common in every field. Scissors are just such a product: even if you rarely use them, you still miss out when you really need one. A (waterproof) permanent marker and/or sufficient pens are also always practical to have at home, for example for administrative work or for labeling goods.
