Tapes for permanent applications
When you think of permanent tape, you soon think of duct tape. This well-known tape is also called power tape for good reason and more than lives up to its powerful reputation. Thanks to its extreme adhesive strength, oil-resistant and waterproof properties, duct tape is an excellent permanent (emergency) solution for repairs or to seal joints watertight. Another type of waterproof tape that is suitable for permanent use is electrical tape: a real all-rounder with versatile properties that is usually used in mechanical and electrical applications.
Also in warehouse work, a high adhesive force can come in handy to prevent packages from opening inadvertently during (internal) transport or handling. For packaging purposes we recommend packaging tape: easy to apply and with a strong adhesion for safely packed goods.
Tapes for temporary solutions
A characteristic of both duct tape and packaging tape is that these variants cannot usually be removed without difficulty and/or clear adhesive residue. In some applications this is undesirable, for example when the tape only has a temporary function. Fortunately, there are various tapes that can be removed effortlessly after use and that leave little or no adhesive residue.
In the warehouse, a temporary tape can sometimes be desirable, for example, for strapping and bundling pallets and loads. After use, you do not want the goods to have traces of use. Strapping tape is the ideal solution for this purpose: a high tensile strength and high adhesive power, but no problems with glue residues.
Another well-known temporary tape is Nichiban tape, also known as gaffer tape. Good-quality gaffer tape has a high adhesive force that is comparable to that of duct tape, but is also extremely removable. Nichiban tape is therefore suitable for temporary repairs and is also regularly used in the cultural sector to safely and inconspicuously hide cables and cords.
Which tape for painting jobs?
A well-known job that requires easily removable, traceless tape is painting. During the painting of walls and frames, you want to prevent the paint from getting onto the window, skirting boards or wall sockets. Painting tape and masking tape were created especially for this purpose. These types of tapes are made of a paper carrier and have a relatively low adhesive strength, which makes them easy to remove after use.
Which tape for marking purposes?
Another situation where temporary adhesive tape is required is for marking purposes. For this purpose, for example, brightly coloured floor marking tape is available. This type of tape has bright colours, patterns and messages and is intended to attract attention or warn. Marking tape is, for example, used to demarcate the warehouse, to create safety zones or to create distance zones.
Which tape for textiles?
Do you want to repair clothing quickly and/or temporarily or 'take it in' unobtrusively? Or do you want to ensure that your carpet stays in the right place? Some types of tape do not adhere well to textiles, but there are also types that stick well to fabric materials. Double-sided tape, for example, is a good option for temporary use, but duct tape also adheres well to textiles.
