How do you fasten a cable tie?

You place the band around the bundle, push the pointed end through the head and pull until the desired tension is reached; the self-locking teeth hold the tie permanently in place. For consistent tension and a safe, flush cut, a cable tie plier is recommended.

More sizes and versions are available at the black cable ties. For heavier bundles, there are heavy-duty cable ties. For temporary bundling and cordoning off, duct tape is a handy addition.

Yes, the greater width provides a high tensile strength. For the very heaviest applications, there are special heavy-duty cable ties.

Can I reuse the cable tie?

No, the self-locking ratchet closure is permanent and therefore for single use. Cutting is required to remove the band.
