How do you fasten a cable tie?

Place the tie around the bundle, feed the pointed end through the head and pull until you reach the desired tension; the self-locking teeth keep the tie permanently in place. For consistent tension and a safe, flush cut, a cable tie plier is recommended.

Frequently asked questions

Can I reuse the cable tie?

No, the self-locking ratchet closure is permanent and therefore single-use. The band has to be cut through to remove it.

Will the cable tie damage my cables?

Not with normal tightening; the wide band spreads the pressure. Do not tighten the tie more than necessary, to protect the insulation of sensitive cables.

What else are cable ties used for besides cabling?

Besides cables, they are used to bundle hoses, pipes and nets and to temporarily attach material to fencing, racks or structures.
