The strap is made of detectable polyamide 6.6: nylon with a metallic compound that triggers metal detectors and shows up on X-ray images. According to ABB, the material is halogen- and silicone-free. The non-magnetic 316 stainless steel barb in the head locks at any point, so you can tighten the tie exactly as much as the bundle requires. What is the difference between the TY525MR-NDT and the TY525MR-PDT?

Both are 186 mm long and detectable. The NDT is made of polyamide 6.6 and reaches 222 N; the PDT is polypropylene and reaches 135 N. Choose the NDT when tensile strength is the deciding factor.

Is the metal barb magnetic?

No. The barb is 316 stainless steel and non-magnetic. Detection relies on the metallic compound in the strap itself, so even a loose piece of strap without the head can be found.

What does halogen- and silicone-free mean for my production?

ABB states that the material contains no halogens and no silicones. If your site has requirements on this, the manufacturer data shows this tie meets them on that point.
