A long cable tie does not have to be a heavy one. The TY400-50-100 pairs a 366 mm length with a slim 4.6 mm strap, so a single size handles anything from a thin bunch of wires up to a 102 mm bundle. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for Thomas & Betts cable ties, and this is the tie many electricians keep in their case for lighter jobs that still call for some reach.

The material is polyamide 6.6 without halogens or silicone, rated UL 94 V-2. The Ty-Fast head has a moulded-in nylon pawl that inserts smoothly and then locks the strap firmly. The head is low and rounded, so nothing snags on cables or clothing. Other sizes in this light colour are available among our white cable ties.

With 222 N tensile strength, this tie suits light to medium bundles indoors. The natural version is not UV stabilised, so use it inside buildings, cabinets and equipment. Its length is what makes it so flexible: simply trim the excess tail after tightening.

Can such a long tie also secure thin bundles?

Yes. According to ABB, the TY400-50-100 works from a bundle diameter of about 3 mm. After tightening, trim the excess tail, ideally flush with the head.

Is this cable tie halogen-free?

Yes. The polyamide 6.6 is free of halogens and silicone, and the tie is rated UL 94 V-2. That makes it suitable for installations in buildings and equipment where these requirements apply.

Is this size also available for outdoor use?

Yes, the TY400-50X-100 is the same slim Ty-Fast in black. That version is UV resistant and therefore the better choice for cables exposed to sunlight.
