The TY277MX measures 617 mm and closes around bundles of up to 177 mm in diameter, so there is no need to daisy-chain two ties. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for Thomas & Betts cable ties; we mainly supply this length to construction, industrial and agricultural customers who process large quantities at once – which is exactly what the pack of 500 is for.

Despite its length, the tensile strength remains 534 N, because that is determined by the 6.9 mm strap width. The material is black polyamide 6.6: weather and UV resistant, halogen-free and compliant with RoHS3 and REACH. Ideally, use a tensioning tool: it pulls the strap to an even tension and cuts the tail off flush behind the head. That way, no protruding or sharp edges are left behind to catch your hands on.

Yes. The polyamide 6.6 of the TY277MX is halogen-free, and according to ABB the tie complies with RoHS3 and REACH. This makes it suitable for projects in which halogen-free materials are specified.

When should I choose the TY5277MX instead of the TY277MX?

The TY5277MX is the same black 617 x 6.9 mm tie, but packed in 50s. It suits smaller jobs; for projects and stock, the TY277MX in a pack of 500 is more economical.
