Thomas & Betts TY175-50X: UV-resistant black cable tie, 186 x 4.6 mm, pack of 1000

If you run cables outdoors every day, you need ties that stand up to sun and weather and that you can order in large quantities at once. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for Thomas & Betts cable ties, and the TY175-50X gives installation crews a black Ty-Fast tie in a pack of 1000, enough to cover several projects. With a length of 186 mm and a 4.6 mm strap, it closes around bundles up to 44 mm in diameter.

The black polyamide 6.6 is UV resistant and heat stabilised, so this tie can be used both indoors and outdoors. Like the other Ty-Fast models, it has a plastic pawl moulded in one piece with the head: little effort to insert, a firm lock once it is in place. The material is halogen and silicone free and rated UL 94 V-2. More lengths and widths in this colour can be found among our black cable ties.

You will notice the benefit of the large pack most on projects with hundreds of fixing points. Thanks to the double-sided finger grip and the SureGrip tab you can keep working in the cold or with gloves on; do observe the minimum installation temperature of -20 °C specified by the manufacturer.

What does the X in TY175-50X stand for?

At Thomas & Betts, the X denotes the black, weather-resistant version. It is made UV resistant and is therefore suitable for outdoor applications, unlike the natural TY175-50.

At what temperatures can I use this cable tie?

The operating range runs from -40 °C to +85 °C. For installation, the manufacturer specifies a minimum of -20 °C. If you need a tie for higher temperatures, take a look at our heat-resistant cable ties.

How does the TY175-50X differ from the natural TY175-50?

Size, tensile strength and locking mechanism are identical. The difference lies in the material: the black TY175-50X is UV resistant and heat stabilised, while the natural version is intended for indoor use only.
