Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for Thomas & Betts cable ties, and we supply this natural cable tie in an economical pack of 1000. With a length of 186 mm and a 4.6 mm strap it secures bundles up to 44 mm in diameter, which covers most wiring looms and cable bundles inside an enclosure.

The TY175-50 belongs to the Ty-Fast range: an all-plastic cable tie in polyamide 6.6 with a pawl moulded in one piece with the head. This gives a low insertion force combined with a high locking force, so you can work quickly without tiring your fingers. The material is halogen and silicone free and rated UL 94 V-2. The uncoloured version is not UV stabilised and is therefore intended for indoor use; you will find more light-coloured options among our white cable ties.

Where the TY175-50 performs best

In an enclosure, every second per tie counts. The rounded, low-profile head sits neatly on the bundle, and the finger grips on both sides of the tail make tightening easy, even with gloves on. The SureGrip tab stops the tail from slipping as you feed it through.

Frequently asked questions about the TY175-50

Can I use the natural TY175-50 outdoors?

We advise against it. The uncoloured polyamide is not UV stabilised and can become brittle over time in sunlight. For outdoor work in the same size, the black TY175-50X is the right choice.

What does UL 94 V-2 mean for use in an enclosure?

UL 94 is a classification for the flammability of plastics; V-2 means the material has been tested for self-extinguishing behaviour. Together with the halogen and silicone free polyamide, this makes the TY175-50 suitable for standard indoor electrical work.

What bundle diameter can I secure with this size?

The TY175-50 closes around bundles from approx. 3 to 44 mm. The range is determined by the length of the tie; if your bundle is thicker, choose a longer version such as the TY300-50-100.
