Thomas & Betts TY100-18X-C: black, heat-stabilised mini cable tie (100 x 2.5 mm), bag of 100

Small cables on machinery, light fittings or trailers often have to cope with heat, sunlight and moisture. For those jobs we recommend the TY100-18X-C. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for Thomas & Betts cable ties, and we supply this European 100 x 2.5 mm Ty-Fast in bags of 100. It bundles from 1.5 to 20.5 mm with a tensile strength of 80 N.

What sets it apart from the natural version is the material: black polyamide 6.6 that is both UV resistant and heat-stabilised. According to ABB’s European Ty-Fast documentation, this allows use from -40 °C to +115 °C. The pawl is made from the same nylon and moulded in one piece with the strap, and the rounded head has no sharp edges. Other sizes in this colour are listed under our black cable ties.

Up to what temperature does the TY100-18X-C remain reliable?

ABB specifies a range of -40 °C to +115 °C for the heat-stabilised European version. Installation itself should take place at -20 °C or above.

How does it differ from the TY100-18X-100?

The TY100-18X-100 is a slightly longer 111 x 2.4 mm size for bundles up to 25 mm. The TY100-18X-C measures 100 x 2.5 mm and closes from just 1.5 mm, making it handy for very thin bundles.
