Fine bundling work in control cabinets and equipment calls for a small tie that installs quickly and looks tidy. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for Thomas & Betts cable ties, and we supply the TY100-18-100 in a pack of 1000 — convenient if you get through this size every day. At 111 mm long with a 2.4 mm strap, it secures bundles up to 25 mm in diameter, which covers control wiring, sensor cables and thin signal leads.

This Ty-Fast is an all-plastic tie: strap and locking pawl are moulded in one piece from polyamide 6.6. The result is a low insertion force combined with high locking strength once tightened. The rounded, low-profile head sits close to the bundle, while the two-sided finger grip and SureGrip tab stop the tail slipping as you feed it through. The material is free of halogens and silicone. Where the natural TY100-18-100 performs best

The natural version is not UV-stabilised, so it is intended for indoor use. That is exactly where its compact size pays off: in tight enclosures, behind front panels and on mounting plates where a larger tie would get in the way. For production work, the large pack means fewer reorders and less searching.

Frequently asked questions about the TY100-18-100

Is the TY100-18-100 the same as the TY100-18-C?

No. The TY100-18-100 measures 111 x 2.4 mm and bundles up to 25 mm. The TY100-18-C is a European size of 100 x 2.5 mm for bundles from 1.5 to 20.5 mm. Both have a tensile strength of 80 N, so the choice mainly comes down to the diameter you need to secure.

Can I use this natural cable tie outdoors?

We advise against it. Without UV stabilisation, sunlight gradually weakens the strap. For outdoor work, choose the black TY100-18X-100 in the same size.

At what temperature can I install it?

Once fitted, the tie withstands -40 °C to +85 °C. Threading and tightening should be done at no lower than -20 °C, which is worth bearing in mind in unheated buildings.
