Tape dispenser for 50mm wide tape

This hand dispenser is the workhorse of the packing bench: one pass along the seam and the carton is closed. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for tape dispensers, and this model has remained the most requested version for standard 50 mm carton-sealing tape on a 76 mm core.

Build and operation

Steel frame, hard plastic handle

The frame is steel and the handle hard plastic. That combination keeps the weight down to 0.5 kg while the body still resists flexing when you press down hard. The handle fills the hand, which matters when you are closing hundreds of cartons a day.

Pressure roller and serrated blade

The pressure roller lays the strip down in a single pass and the serrated blade cuts it the moment you lift the dispenser. A brake spring keeps light tension on the roll so the tape does not run on.

Tool-free roll changes

Slide the empty core off the spindle, fit the new roll with the adhesive side facing out and feed the tape over the pressure roller towards the blade. It takes seconds and need not happen at the bench.

Frequently asked questions

How does it differ from the budget model?

This version has a steel frame; the budget model is all plastic. Under intensive daily use the steel frame holds its shape better, while the lighter version is fine for occasional work.

Which tape can I use in it?

Any common carton-sealing tape 48 to 50 mm wide on a 76 mm core: PP tape with solvent, hot melt or acrylic adhesive, and PVC tape.

How do I stop the tape end disappearing onto the roll?

Fold the last half centimetre back on itself after use. You then pick the strip up again straight away instead of scratching at the roll.

Can the blade be replaced?

The blade is part of the holder and is not supplied separately. If cutting becomes noticeably harder, replacing the dispenser is usually cheaper than repairing it.
