No, the wide 3.6 mm band actually spreads the force better. Pull firm but with care and the insulation stays whole.

What temperature and chemical range does this material have?

Polyamide 6.6 works from roughly -40 °C to +85 °C and resists many oils and solvents, even in heavier assembly work.

Can I reopen this short tie?

No, this tie is self-locking and single-use. For repeated use, our reusable cable ties are more suitable.
