Natural Thomas & Betts cable ties with metal barb

Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for Thomas & Betts cable ties, and the natural Ty-Rap is where the story began. These light, uncoloured ties are the standard in control cabinets, distribution boards and machine wiring: tidy, clear and free of pigment that adds nothing indoors.

At the heart of every Ty-Rap is the 316 stainless steel barb in the head. It bites into the strap as you tighten and holds it at any position. That lets you secure even thin wires gently, and the tie will not slip back.

Where to use natural cable ties

Because the natural version is not UV-stabilised, it belongs indoors. There its light colour is an advantage: markers and cable numbers stay easy to read and the wiring looks calm and orderly.

Does the bundle need to go outside? Choose black cable ties, which are UV resistant. You will find more light-coloured ties among our white cable ties.

Frequently asked questions about natural cable ties with metal barb

Is natural the same as white?

Natural is the uncoloured shade of the nylon: off-white to cream. That is why you will also find these ties listed under white in our shop.

Can natural cable ties be used outdoors?

Not for long periods. Without UV stabilisation the nylon becomes brittle in sunlight over time. Black Ty-Rap ties are the better choice outdoors.

Why is there a metal barb in the head?

The stainless steel barb locks the strap at any point. You decide how tight the tie sits, and the tension is maintained even under vibration.
