## **Top sheets 150 x 180 cm, 50 microns transparent**

Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for top sheets and pallet covers. This transparent 50-micron sheet is the heaviest gauge we supply on a roll, and it is meant for situations where a lighter sheet simply will not do: rough loads, prolonged outdoor storage and journeys where the pallet is handled several times.

## **When do you need 50 microns?**

The rule of thumb is simple: the harsher the conditions, the thicker the sheet. At 50 microns it usually comes down to one of these three:

- **Sharp or irregular loads.** Protruding profiles, frames, machine parts or straps that would punch through a thin sheet.

- **Wind.** A heavier sheet drapes tightly over the load and does not lift on the road or in a gale in the yard.

- **Time.** If the pallet stands outside for weeks, every micron counts towards how long the film stays intact and watertight.

A heavy sheet does not have to mean losing sight of the load. This version is transparent, so labels, barcodes and pallet contents stay readable. In warehouses where pickers and drivers identify pallets by eye, that is a practical advantage you give up with black or white film.

### **Why 200 sheets per roll?**

Thicker film takes up more space on the core, so 50 microns gives fewer sheets per roll than the thinner versions while keeping the roll weight manageable for one person or the dispenser.

## **Working faster with a dispenser**

## **Frequently asked questions**

### **What will I actually notice compared with 20 microns?**

Two things: the sheet is far less likely to be punctured by a protruding corner, and it stays put where a thin sheet lifts at the first gust. The difference is clearest in an open yard and with loads that have hard edges.

### **Can I pull the sheet tight over the load?**

Yes. 50 microns offers enough stretch and tensile strength to pull the sheet taut without splitting it – useful if you then secure it with stretch film or strapping.

### **How long will a covered pallet stay dry?**

Against rain the film is watertight straight away and stays that way. UV exposure is the limiting factor: a few weeks outdoors is comfortably within range. For months of storage a UV-stabilised cover sheet is the better fit.

### **Is this film suitable for sea containers?**

The sheet catches condensation dripping from the container roof. Do make sure you are not sealing the pallet airtight; any moisture already inside the load needs a way out.

### **Does it fit the same dispenser as the thinner sheets?**

Yes, the roll has the same dimensions and fits the top sheet dispenser for rolls up to 175 cm high.
