This transparent hand wrapping film -also called stretch film- has a thickness of 17micron, making it suitable for lighter pallet loads.
This stretch film is wrapped on a tube and can therefore be unrolled by hand without any tools. You start by attaching the film to, for example, the pallet or trolley, this way you can pull the film without it coming loose. Then grab the roll with both hands and insert your index and middle finger into the tube. By holding the roll back with your thumbs, you can apply tension to the film and pull it tightly around the pallet or trolley. You start at the bottom of the pallet and each time apply an overlapping layer of film until the entire pallet is sealed. Then you stick your hand through foil and tear off the foil and rub the end against the underlying layer.
If you need to seal several pallets a day, there are handy tools to make pallet sealing easier. These include end caps that you push into the sleeve so the roll doesn't rub your hands as much or film dispensers where you place the roll of hand wrapping film.
If you yourself receive a pallet or package that is complicated with stretch film, you can put the film in the plastic waste container and the film can be recycled later.
Lots of companies use stretch film to wrap pallets, carts and packages, think of:
Besides transparent wrapping film, hand wrapping film in other colours, such as black or orange wrapping film, is also widely used. This is often chosen to make the contents invisible because there are valuable goods on the pallet or to prevent discolouration of the pallet load.
