This white hand wrapping film -also called stretch film- has a thickness of 20micron and is therefore suitable for medium to heavy pallet loads. This roll of white sealing film is packaged per piece and thus handy if you only need film occasionally and use it once.
This stretch film is wrapped on a tube and can therefore be unrolled by hand, without tools. You start by attaching the film to, for example, the pallet or trolley, this way you can pull the film without it coming loose. Then grab the roll with both hands and insert your index and middle finger into the tube. By holding the roll back with your thumbs, you can apply tension to the film and pull it tightly around the pallet or trolley. You start at the bottom of the pallet and each time apply an overlapping layer of film until the entire pallet is sealed. Finally, you put your hand through foil and tear off the foil and rub the end against the underlying layer.
Because the film is applied in several layers, the film becomes opaque and you can no longer see what is on the pallet. This can be desirable when dealing with valuable goods or when the pallet contents are prone to discolouration.
In many cases, it is useful to also cover the top of the pallet with a top sheet. That way, the contents stay dry during loading and unloading or storage if it rains.
If you need to seal several pallets a day, there are handy tools to make pallet sealing easier. These include end caps that you push into the tube so the roll does not rub your hands as much, or film dispensers on which you place the roll of hand wrap film.
If you yourself receive a pallet or package that is complicated with stretch film, you can put the white film in the plastic waste container and the film can be recycled later.
Lots of businesses and consumers use coloured stretch film to wrap pallets, carts and parcels, for example:
- Electronics companies
- Webshops
- Manufacturers of insulation materials
