# Ripack 3000 shrink gun for shrink film and shrink hoods ## Ripack 3000 shrink gun: professional gas-fired shrinking Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for shrink film and shrink wrapping tools, and the Ripack 3000 is the gas-fired shrink gun professional packers reach for. With output adjustable from 45 to 80 kW, you can shrink a fully loaded pallet tight in roughly a minute – without scorching holes in the film and without waiting for the tool to come back up to temperature halfway through the job. The gun itself weighs around 1,250 grams and is balanced for a full working day. The aluminium body, dual-material handle and easy-action trigger keep the strain on wrist and shoulder low, even when you are finishing a hundred pallets or more per day. ## What do you use the Ripack 3000 for? ### Securing pallets with shrink hoods The most common application: you pull a [shrink pallet cover](en/wrapping-film-shrink-film-top-sheets-pallets/shrink-foil-and-shrink-pallet-coverssleeves) over the loaded pallet and shrink it all round. The film pulls tight around the load and over the pallet edge, so the pallet travels as one unit and rain, dust and dirt stay out. ### Shrinking with film from the roll For bundles, machine parts, window frames or stacked panels you work with [shrink film](en/wrapping-film-shrink-film-top-sheets-pallets/shrink-wrap-shrink-plastic-shrink-film) from the roll. The fan-shaped nozzle spreads the flame widely, so large surfaces shrink evenly instead of overheating in one spot. ### Outdoor storage, construction and marine Machinery on a building site, equipment in storage, boats laid up for winter: wherever a load has to survive months of wind and rain, a shrunk film skin is the fastest watertight finish. Where heat cannot be used, [stretch film](en/wrapping-film-shrink-film-top-sheets-pallets/stretch-film-wrap-film) remains the alternative; for extra hold on the pallet, combine the shrink hood with [strapping materials](en/strapping-materials). ## Safety: the Securipack system ### A nozzle that stays cold Ripack's stainless steel heat diffuser is patented worldwide and stays cold on the outside even under intensive use. That prevents burns when you put the gun down, and scorch marks on the film or the load. ### Pressure detection and automatic gas shut-off The supplied Securipack regulator detects the pressure in the gas cylinder and prevents the tool from overheating. If the gas hose is damaged, the gas supply is cut off automatically. The air inlet is also designed so that it cannot become blocked. ## Ergonomics and maintenance The piezo igniter sits in the handle and can be replaced without tools – no need to strip the gun down, and you are back at work within a minute. The nozzle rotates through 360° and is removable, and the gas connector rotates with it so the hose never gets in the way. The tool runs on propane from a gas cylinder. The supplied regulator connects to the bottle and lets you set the working pressure to match the film and the job. ### Does the nozzle get hot while shrinking? The patented stainless steel heat diffuser stays cold on the outside, even during prolonged use. That is exactly what sets it apart from simpler shrink guns, whose nozzles are glowing hot after a few pallets. ### How many pallets can I shrink per day? Ripack states the model is designed for around 100 to 150 pallets a day. A standard one-metre-high pallet takes about a minute. ### What happens if the gas hose is damaged? The Securipack system shuts off the gas supply automatically. The same system monitors cylinder pressure so the gun cannot overheat. ### Are extension wands available? Yes. Ripack offers extensions from 0.33 to 1.87 metres so you can shrink the bottom edge of a pallet without bending down. They are supplied separately. ### Can I replace the piezo igniter myself? Yes. It sits within easy reach in the handle and is swapped without tools, so there is no need to return the gun for such a simple job. ### Can this gun also be used for pallet shrink hoods? That is precisely what it is built for.
