# Thomas & Betts YLS-7.9-360B - 360mm x 7.9mm - stainless steel

## Heavy-duty 316 stainless cable tie: Thomas & Betts YLS-7.9-360B, 360 x 7.9 mm, 100 pieces

For heavy cables, hose packages and fixings that have to survive years of salt and weather, a narrow tie is not enough. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for [Thomas & Betts cable ties](en/closure-materials/cable-ties/thomas-betts-cable-ties), and we see the YLS-7.9-360B mainly in shipbuilding, offshore and petrochemicals. Its 7.9 mm strap reaches a tensile strength of 1110 N – more than double that of the 4.6 mm YLS ties – and the 360 mm length handles bundles up to 100 mm.

The material is uncoated AISI 316 stainless steel. Thanks to its added molybdenum, 316 resists chlorides such as seawater and road salt better than 304. The ball-lock in the stainless head engages as soon as the strap is pulled tight and holds the bundle permanently. ## Frequently asked questions about the YLS-7.9-360B

### What is the difference between the YLS-7.9-360B and the YLS-7.9-360BC?

Both measure 360 x 7.9 mm and are made of 316 stainless steel. The BC version has a black polyester coating that prevents galvanic corrosion, but this limits it to +150 °C. The uncoated 360B can be used up to +300 °C.

### Why a 7.9 mm strap rather than 4.6 mm?

A wider strap can take more force. Where the 4.6 mm YLS ties reach 440 N, this 7.9 mm version achieves 1110 N.

### Is this tie suitable for use by the sea?

Yes. 316 stainless steel was chosen precisely for its good resistance to salt and chlorides, and the tie is UV resistant.
